Getting good speakers at a reasonable price is not as hard as it seems.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Have a small budget in mind for the type of speaker you would like. Speakers run the gambit, but you won't get anything but bad noise for under $50.00 dollars.

  2. Step 2

Test drive the speakers you like at an audio outlet store before you buy. Compare your speakers with other speakers of the same or higher price range. This will give you a good idea of what the speakers will sound like at home.

  3. Step 3

Chose speakers based on how long they will last. If you need to upgrade every year, the value goes down. A good solid speaker from a reputable manufacturer is always a best bet.

  4. Step 4

Finally, be sure the speakers you get are rated within the wattage range of your stereo. If you stereo is rated for 100 watts, getting speaker that can only handle 20 watts is not a good bet. Look for compatibility.
