Things You'll Need:
- Hot Water Bag
- Down Comforter
- Thermal Underclothes
-
Step 1
HOT WATER BAG: You can find rubber bags or double-layered plastic bags to use. Simply fill them with hot water and put it under your covers at the foot of your bed to keep your whole bed warm for the night.
-
Step 2
DOWN COMFORTER: Down feathers are nature's best thermal insulators to keep you warm on a cold winter's night. A good down comforter is worth the one time investment as it lasts for years with minimal maintenance. Keep a machine-washable duvet cover over it and you will only have to clean the comforter a couple times a year.
-
Step 3
LAYERED CLOTHING: This step may not be desirable for everyone; but it works for me. Thermal underclothes under t-shirts, sweatshirts and/or sweatpants will help keep your body heat insulated. Double layering your socks also trap in heat by keeping your feet toasty-warm.
-
Step 4
SHOWER IN THE MORNING: This is the hardest thing to do on a cold morning, but it will actually wake you up and activate your internal body heat faster. It is also better to wash your hair in the morning so you don't go to bed with wet hair.

on 6/13/2008 Good article Deannarjd. I do the layered and thermal clothing aspect. I think you left something out though that I'm surprised a female omitted - mutual snuggling! In thinking about the difference between cuddling and snuggling, I've decided that the latter is the former plus an ulterior motive (warmth)!
