1. The first step is to choose a blog company. Make sure that the blog software allows you to post ads, photos and what you want to achieve. This is a software that you need to know inside and out.
2. The second step is to create a great name. Do some research on blog names. See what ones are taken. You will get a lot of great ideas from looking at other blogs.
3. The third step is to choose a template that fits your style. Make sure that the site has capabilities like adding photos, music, and ads. Make sure that there are a lot of backgrounds available or a place where you change the html code to a new background.
4. The fourth step is to build relationships with other blogs and add their links to yours and vice versa. This will help get traffic flowing. In the sidebar of your blog put other peoples blogs that you read.
5. The fifth step is to add captivating content. Photographs are great attention getter and so are small movie clips. Make sure that you add great articles, reviews, talk about the town you are in, and post contest or free stuff. People love free stuff. Make sure that you have permission to use the photographs and movies.
6. The sixth step is to keep the personal clustered in one area of the blog and the ads to be placed in the sidebars. This is where you can make some money with your blog with affiliated programs and Adsense. Go to these sites and get the code that you need, and know where to place that code inside the blog software.
7. The last step is to add a chat room or IM capabilities. After all, the purpose of a blog is to communicate with others that like the same things that you do.
