How about making a wash cloth, back scrubber, and a bag to hold your soaps? You can use any fabric that has a little give or pull to it.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • ¼-inch strips of terry cloth towels
  • Crochet hook H
  • Optional sewing needle with thread
  • Gauge 4 stitches per inch
  • Loofah material

Step1
Gather all the old towels in the color scheme of your bath room. Cut them in strips of ¼-inch. You can use either freehand style with the scissors or use a striping machine. Some people that are familiar with quilting use a rotary wheel and quilling rulers.
Step2
The next step is to connect all the strips into one continuous string. You can sew each piece together or make a surgeon knot. If you use the know method make sure when crocheting that the knot is on the wrong side of the work. Later, you can glue them down.
Step3
Bath rug. Chain 96 chain stitches and chain one to turn. Make sure that with fabric as your fiber that you crochet loosely. Simply single crochet (sc) in each chain across to the end of the row and chain 1 to turn.

Continue this pattern for 48 rows and fasten off.
Step4
Wash cloth. Chain 20 with one extra for turning and single crochet until you reaches 20 rows. Fasten off.
Step5
Soap bag. Chain 15 with one extra for turning and single crochet until you reaches 30 rows. Fasten off. Now, folded the piece in half and mattress stitch the sides closed. Turn inside out. Make a tie by chaining 30 chains and weaving it in around the top of the bag at least two rows from the top edge. Pull the tie tightly.
Step6
Back scrubber. Chain 48 chains with one extra for turning and single crochet for 20 rows. You will need to fold this over length wise and stitch the long side closed. Before you Close both ends stuff the inside with Loofah material. You will want to add some silk corded style handles before sewing up both ends.
