Many of us buy gifts for our children because that is what the children asked for. Consider having a second thought to what they want and ask yourself, is it realistic? Are they going to use it for time to come? Or will it be an addition in their toybox that never gets touched?

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Have them make you a wishlist. If they aren't old enough, make it for them by what you think they would like.
Step2
A gift with love. Now that you have a wishlist, go down the line and mark off anything that is deemed too old for them or something you don't want them to have.
Step3
Now it's time to check what you have left. You can go online to any retail store site and check out the items on your list. Look for the recommended age, what is included, if it teaches anything, etc.
Step4
Read reviews. If many of us read reviews on products before purchasing them I think we would save money. See what other parents had to say about the item you're interested in. Was it worth the money? Do they recommend it to other parents?

Tips & Warnings

  • Pay attention to commercials. Many children point out things they see on TV commercials for toys or similar items that they want. Write them down secretly so you can remember it all come time to shop.
