How to Bird Watch in Your Backyard

Bird watching is educational and fun for the whole family. You can do it in your own backyard, too!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Position birdfeeder in a tree or on a pole, where it can easily be seen from a window or your back porch.

  2. Step 2

    Fill the feeder with bird food. Then scatter some on the ground for the larger birds such as Blue Jays and Doves.

  3. Step 3

    Have a great time watching all the birds that your feeder will attract.

Tips & Warnings
  • To identify unknown birds keep handy a bird guide book, visit your local library or search for them on the internet.
  • Binoculars are a great way to get a close up view of the birds without frightening them.

Only really works if you live near nature though.
