How to Create an Account on ActiveRain

This is a howto article for ActiveRain, a social network for members of the real estate community. A common question that often asked is how to set up a profile. This can be an easy process, but still sometimes people need to have it explained. This How To will hopefully make things simple and easier for new members.

Things You’ll Need:

1. Go to http://activerain.com and at the top right hand order click on "Join".
2. When you are on the first page, start with your Profile Type. This is important because it will put that category with other members in that category. Next fill in your First Name and Last Name. If you want to add a designation to the end of your name, add it to the end of your Last Name.
3. You will want to add an e-mail address that is easy to get too, and that you use frequently. Next, pick a username that is unique, meaning that no one else on ActiveRain has. This will also be part of your profile URL so pick wisely. Pick your password that is easy for to remember.
4. Next pick the area that you work in the most, not the area that you live. Go by State, County, and then City.
5. Read the Terms of Service and accept then click "Join ActiveRain" after typing the word in the graphic.
6. You will get an e-mail to activate your account. Click on the "Activate Profile" button. From here you can edit your profile.
7. You do get points for what you have on your profile. If you have a lot of photos on your profile then you will gain more points then if you just have text. Experiment. There is no such thing as a "perfect" profile.
