Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Have your horse checked by a veterinarian to make sure he is in great health and is sound. Update all shots and vaccines. Potential buyers may also want to have their own veterinarian check the horse.
Step2
Advertise your barrel horse at rodeos and barrel racing events. This is where you will get the most money from selling your horse. A horse that excels in barrel racing can bring a much higher price than an average horse.
Step3
Allow potential buyers to look at your horse. Let them ride the horse if they are very interested in buying him, but don't allow anyone to take your horse from your site. If they want to try him at a barrel race, bring him there yourself and watch.
Step4
Accept payment and allow time for it to clear if it is a check. Don't send your horse home with someone without bringing the check to the bank first.
