Things You'll Need:
- Lens cloth
- Camera case
- Strap

Step 1
Keep your camera dry! Even the littlest drip in the wrong place can ruin the electronics in a digital camera. If you must shoot pictures in an area around water, keep it in a waterproof case until you need to shoot.
-
Step 2
Keep your camera out of the sun when it is not in use. The heat of the sun can get very intense, especially in a car on the dashboard. You also have to think of condensation in areas where the humidity levels are high.
-
Step 3
Take the battery out of the camera when it is not in use for extended periods of time. We have all seen batteries that leak after time and leave a corrosive mess. This would be sure ruination for a digital camera!
-
Step 4
Keep your camera strapped to your wrist or neck while you are shooting. Dropping an electronic device is not very healthy! Losing your digital camera by setting it down briefly and then forgetting about it is also very frustrating!
-
Step 5
Clean your lens with a lens cleaning cloth. Don't use clothing as many times they contain fibers that can actually scratch the optics.
