Measure correctly for the best fit.

More than 80 percent of women may be wearing the wrong size bra. Pregnancy, weight changes, gravity and just growing up make finding and sticking to a single size of bra a difficult task.

    Things You'll Need

    • Fabric measuring tape
      • 1

Take your measuring tape and measure around the trunk of your body underneath the breast.

      • 2

Measure under your arms and just above the breast. If there is less than 2 inches difference between these numbers you can go with the measurement taken under the breast as the actual bra size. If the measurement is an odd number, round up to next even number.

      • 3

Measure directly over the largest portion of the breast. Subtract the under-breast measurement from this number. For instance, if the measurement around the largest part of your breast is 38.5 inches and your under-breast measurement is 36 inches, the difference is 2.5 inches.

      • 4

        Use this information to determine cup size. A difference of ½ an inch = AA, 1 inch = A, 2 inches = B, 3 inches = C, 4 inches = D, 5 inches = DD or E, 6 inches = F, and 7 inches = G.

I agree with the previous 2 comments, the adding 4 inches makes no sense. This method actually gives me the correct size!

I know what you're talking about. There are several different ways to measure out there, but this one works for me and my girls. Misty

This article was very helpful. Thank you Other articles have parts like “when you have measured your band size add 4 inches "?? What’s up with that I don’t get how that makes the measurement write??
