How to make your own holiday song for New Year's.

  • Pen
  • Paper
  • Time
  • Basic Musical Ability
  • Free time to think
  • Creativity
  1. Step 1

    Get a pen and paper.

  2. Step 2

    Write lyrics down. Write everything that comes to mind when you think about the holiday. Cross out what does not work. Arrange remaining lyrics into order.

  3. Step 3

    Make up a tune.

  4. Step 4

    Wait 24 hours.

  5. Step 5

    Review your lyrics and make any needed changes. Ditto to the tune.

  6. Step 6

    Test your song by singing it out loud.

  • Your song may not be good; do not insist that it is.
