From Rosa Parks and her courageous stand that great day December 1,1955 to the July 1966 Chicago riots to the 1968 establishment of the King Center, this article is intended to familiarize you with and grant you the tools you will need in order to learn about and appreciate one of the Greatest Civil Rights Leaders in the world.     April 4th,1968, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated standing on the balcony of his second floor Motel room at the Lorraine Motel, Memphis. He died later at St. Joseph Hospital from a gunshot wound to the neck.
