Sure, you can always walk into any beauty store and find a hundred products suited for whatever ails you. But sometimes, it’s more fun to pull out your mixing bowls and whip up your own feel good beauty remedies. The following recipes are geared to banish the blahs and jump-start your engine, no matter what time of day.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Herbal Astringent
This is a wonderful refresher to spritz on just after washing your face or during the day for a pick-me-up.

    1 cup distilled water
    ½ cup vodka
1 cup of peppermint or spearmint leaves

Cut leaves into small pieces; mix all ingredients and place in a jar with a tight fitting lid.
Shake once a day for two weeks. Then strain, pour into a clean spray bottle and spray away!

  2. Step 2

    Energizing Bath Salts
For a quick jolt, pour a ¼ cup of this recipe into the tub while drawing a bath.

    2 cup Epsom salts
    1 cup Sea salt
10 drops green food coloring, 5 drops blue
    6 drops eucalyptus oil
    10 drops rosemary oil
    15 drops peppermint oil
(All oils are available at any health food store)

In a large bowl mix salts first, then add other ingredients. Store in a large, resealable container.

  3. Step 3

    Coffee Body Scrub
With ground coffee beans to exfoliate dead skin, rich oils like jojoba and almond to moisturize, and hints of orange and cinnamon to invigorate your senses, you'll love what this does for your skin and your mood.

    1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon freshly ground coffee beans
    1 tablespoon finely chopped hazelnuts
    2 teaspoons almond oil
    2 teaspoons jojoba oil
2 teaspoons soy oil (or olive oil)
8 drops of orange essential oil
    Teensy dash of cinnamon

Dump ingredients into a bowl and mix thoroughly. In the shower, gently massage the scrub in circular motions all over your body. Pack remainder into a glass jar and store in the refrigerator.
