Co-sleeping makes both baby and mother much more comfortable. When done properly there is less chance for the infant to become a victim SIDS! Sleep safe and secure know the proper way to co-sleep for you and baby.
The placement of your baby is very important. Place the infant on his/her back this will prevent the danger of SIDS. Make sure that the baby's head is uncovered while sleeping to prevent suffocation and choking.

The headboard and footboard of your bed should not have openings or cutouts, this will endanger the baby because if the infants head gets caught in those openings, the child could choke or get hurt. The next obvious thing is to make sure that your mattress fits snug to prevent the infant from getting trapped between frame and mattress.

Never leave your baby alone to sleep in an adult bed. Do not use pillows, comforters, quilts, and other soft plus items on your bed. Do not place the baby near draperies or blinds where the child could get strangled with the cord. Try to keep a sleeping schedule for you and baby in order to get a much better sleep time.
Tips & Warnings
Give baby a warm bottle of formula or breast feed just before bed time.
The gentle rocking in the arms of mom with a soft lullaby is always helpful.
Nice warm bath often helps but is not necessary every night.
Cuddling by dad before bedtime always add more to the infants comfort zone.
Do not sleep with baby if you or anyone who is sleeping in bed has:
taken medicine or drugs that make you extra sleepy.
