When a child cough, they often feel very uncomfortable and their lungs may feel irritated. Here are some tips to prevent it.

Things You’ll Need:

  • cough drops
  • chrysanthemum tea
  • cough medicine
  • asian pears
  • water

Step1
The best way to prevent coughing is to keep up with your vitamin C. A healthy diet with fruits and vegetables helps to boost yur immune system. For coughing a good fruit to eat on a regular basis would be those juicy asian pears. Its an old home remedy to relieve coughing.
Step2
Make sure you drink a lot of water, so your body stays hydrated.
Step3
Refrain from eating things that are too cold. Things that are cold tend to irrittate your throat. Also stay away from greasy, fried, or things that are too spicy. (i.e, chips, fried chicken, curry)
Step4
Drink some hot chrysanthemum tea. This tea can come in little powder packets or can be brewed. Sugar can be added to sweeten the taste of the tea. You can find it in any oriental or asian store.
Step5
Take cough medicine as needed to help treat the coughing. If it gets worse you might want to see a doctor.
Step6
Last throughout the day, keep some cough drops handy. It helps to keep your throat less dry. Plus the menthol vapors that are released create a cool sensation for your throat.
