How to Make Italian White Bean Dip

Great for a party, this Italian white bean dip is a delightful departure from hummus. Follow these easy instructions to make a delicious Italian white bean dip.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Two cans cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 to 3 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh flat-leaf parsley, chopped
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt & pepper
  • Food processor or blender

Step1
In the bowl of a food processor or blender, add the beans, garlic, herbs, and a dash of salt and pepper.
Step2
Blend the ingredients together on low until they begin to incorporate.
Step3
Slowly drizzle in olive oil while running the blender or food processor. The dip will become smooth and develop a slight sheen.
Step4
Taste the dip for seasonings and adjust if necessary.

Tips & Warnings

  • Perfect when served with fresh baked pita chips, or with crudite.
  • Dip is best when made an hour or two before serving, but will keep well in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days.
  • Try spicing the white bean dip up with the addition of hot red pepper flakes.
  • Raw garlic is extremely potent. Start out with 2 cloves and increase one at a time after tasting until desired flavor is achieved.
