Charity fraud is an attempt by an organization to get money from consumers to help with financial problems of said charity.

Things You'll Need:

  • Access to the Federal Trade Commission website tips against charity fraud
  1. Step 1

    Look for the signs of charity fraud, including the refusal to give any written information about the charity to you the consumer, no tax deduction proof of charitable donation, and asking for a cash donation.

  2. Step 2

    Don't give out credit card or bank information when making a donation.

  3. Step 3

    Call the charity to see if they know about the solicitation of funds being made in the name of said charity.

  4. Step 4
