Things You'll Need:
- Different colored beads--can be glass or seed
- Bead stringing cord
- Lettering beads or mini phrase beads
- Workspace to do the jewelry
- Snacks (optional)
- Music (optional)
-
Step 1
Purchase some of your favorite colored beads. You can use colorful chunky glass beads, small seed beads or anything of your choice. Also purchase some letter beads or beads that have word phrases on them. Make sure you get some stringing material of your choice too such as stretch cord or bead stringing cord.
-
Step 2
Set up your work area somewhere in your home. Set out your beads, stringing material, scissors and some snacks to munch on. If you want to listen to music while you work, set up a small radio or cd player somewhere close too. Some music just might inspire you too.
-
Step 3
Decide on a phrase or a poet’s name that you would like to display on your bracelet. Some poets can be Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost and many others. Or you could try simple phrases such as, “Roses are red….. “ Or it can be a phrase out of your favorite poem. The sky is the limit.
-
Step 4
Put your phrase or name in the middle of your string. Then begin by adding other beads around it. They can all be the same color or different ones too.
-
Step 5
Tie the bracelet so it fit’s the length of your wrist or if you are making it for someone else, make sure it will fit them too.
-
Step 6
Gift your bracelet to someone if it is a gift or if it is for you wear it with your favorite outfit to show off. Your bracelet just might inspire someone else to write, or ask you to make them a bracelet like yours.
