New Year's is a fun holiday. It's time to start fresh and possibly make changes where you feel needed. It's also a great time for fun projects and crafts. Making a New Year's bracelet can be a fun way to ring in the new year. By adding a favorite resolution or perhaps the numbers of the upcoming year, you can have a great new piece of personalized jewelry. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • stringing material
  • different colored glass beads
  • lettering or wording beads
  • jewelry plyers
  • clasp

Step1
Gather your stringing material and plyers. Cut some jewelry cord that will be plenty long enough to string beads, and also enough to fit your wrist, too.
Step2
Choose some of your favorite colored beads to decorate your bracelet with.
Step3
Decide on a phrase that you would like to put on your bracelet. It can be a new years resolution or just simply say "Happy New Year." Choose from alpha beads or beads that have phrases on them.
Step4
String your beads onto your bracelet. Put your phrase in the middle of your bracelet while your other colored beads are on either side of the phrase.
Step5
Tie your bracelet together with a clasp. Make sure it fits your wrist. Cut off any excess string. Wear your bracelet with pride and as a friendly reminder for the new year.

on 1/1/2008 Thanks for this great idea! I used tigertail wire and crimp beads to attach a jump ring and clasp. I also used the word "imagine" because that has special meaning to me. It was a quick project, but very meaningful.
