Step 1
Go shopping. If you like to shop, you will find stores selling everything from Japanese books to Italian leather goods to Russian folk art. There's also a Metropolitan Museum of Art store that is a good source for Christmas gifts and trinkets.
-
Step 2
Ice skate. Nothing says Christmas in New York more than skating at the Rockefeller Center ice rink while gazing at the tree.
-
Step 3
view of NYC from Top of the RockGo to the Top of the Rock. The Top of the Rock observation deck offers magnificent New York City views (including the nearby spires of the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building). Go during the day to see the splendor of the city unfold beneath you, or better yet, go at night and see the Christmas lights sparkle.
-
Step 4
The Rainbow RoomEat. Without a doubt, the most famous restaurant in the complex is the Rainbow Room, located on the 65th floor of 30 Rockefeller Plaza (the same building as Top of the Rock). Unfortunately, these days the elegant art deco atmosphere is only available for private functions. But there are other good spots for a meal like the rink side restaurants Sea Grill (elegant and expensive) and the Rock Center Cafe (inexpensive and family friendly).
-
Step 5
Radio CityTake a backstage tour of Radio City Music Hall. If you can't make it to the Christmas show, you can still meet one of the Rockettes by taking a behind the scenes tour. You will see how the parts of the stage move, view some of the sets, hear about Radio City's history, and yes, you will actually meet one of the famous Rockettes.

Step 6
NBC in NYCTake a tour of NBC Studios. NBC is headquartered at 30 Rockefeller Plaza and they offer a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to run a TV network.
