Long-term relationships are great. It’s nice to have security while continually being with someone you really like. But while security is great, it can lead to taking your other for granted. Here are some tips to rekindle that flame.

From Quick Guide: Celebrate Valentine's Day
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Surprise him with dinner. After a long day at work, the last thing we want to do is cook. Surprise him at home by cooking his favorite meal. It might catch them off guard, but he’ll be pleased to see you in an apron and top hat. For those that can’t cook, order in. Whatever you do, though, make sure the food gets there shortly after your other walks in.

  2. Step 2

Send her chocolates or flowers, just because. Again, the surprise element works well here. It’s the thought that counts.

  3. Step 3

Make a date. Be nostalgic and go for dinner and a movie. It’ll probably be a nice change of pace. It doesn’t need to be an anniversary or birthday for the two of you to spend a night on the town.
For guys, buy her dinner. It will bring you both back to a time when you were just trying each other out. Hold doors and do all the little things that endeared you to her all that time. For girls, dress sexy, but classy. Try to impress him like you did back in the day.

  4. Step 4

Give her a big hug. Hugging seems to have gone by the wayside in favor of more physical activity. But giving your girl or guy a big hug can really make his or her day. When was the last time you hugged your partner?
