Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Blank scrapbook
  • Various items from your relationship
  • Creativity
  1. Step 1

Scrapbooks are all about memories, so focus on special moments in your history, such as the first day you met, favorite place for dinner, funny or touching events, and other milestones. Every couple has one-of-a-kind moments that can be brought to life on the pages of your scrapbook. Before you begin putting items together, take a moment to jot down a list of events you’d like to include. You will probably think of many more as you begin work on your scrapbook, but with a few to start out you’ll be sure to hit upon the most meaningful memories.

  2. Step 2

Start gathering items, such as love notes, cards, pictures, matchbook covers, playbills, movie tickets, napkins, restaurant calling cards, and more. If you’re someone that tends to save little mementos, you’ll be ahead of the game on this one. If not, search your place for things you could use. You’d be surprised at how much you can locate if you really try.

  3. Step 3

Think outside the box. You can add many things that will represent various memories. For example, include copies of emails you may have sent to each other. Choose the special ones and include a few more mundane, such as notes confirming dinner plans or questions about the week. This is an especially great idea if you both met online. You can include emails you both sent while you were still getting to know each other.

If you have a favorite song, include a copy of the CD cover. Or print out the lyrics to place on a page. Highlight those that make you think of your partner. Obtain the musical sheet and include it as part of the background. If you have a favorite meal you’ve made together, include a box top or wrapper from one of the main food items used to create it.

  4. Step 4

When it comes to scrapbooking, capturing the feeling of the moment is important. Give some thought as to how you felt the first time you saw your partner, or the first thing they said that made you laugh. When you include a page that highlights an event, write a small note about what specifically you loved about the time you spent together.

  5. Step 5

Choose the scrapbook to fit your memories in. Today there are a variety of sizes, colors and themes to choose from. Add embellishments from the craft or even hardware store. Remember, the amount of money you spend on this gift isn’t the most important, it’s the effort you put forth in making it unique and special.
