Vista has a little known feature that you can use to your advantage. Read on to learn how to make programs open quicker.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Windows Vista

Step1
Freshly Boot up you Vista PC.
Step2
Open 3 of your most favorite programs. Pick programs that you like to use daily or almost daily. Examples are Internet-explorer, Windows Mail, Media player, WINAMP, Outlook 2007.
Step3
Close them and reopen them again.
Step4
Repeat the last step 3 times at the time of day you normally use your PC. Do this each day for 3 days.
Step5
By doing this you are telling vista it needs to add these programs to SUPER FETCH. Super Fetch listed programs will be loaded into memory just before the time of day that you normally use your PC. This will allow Vista to open these programs much faster.
Step6
TIP: Stick a freshly formatted flash drive in to a USB slot. When prompted to use it as extra memory, agree to it and then go to properties of this device. From here you can dedicate this space to super fetch by opting to open programs faster.
