How to Be a Seat-Filler at the GMA Dove Awards

Every year in late April the biggest names in Gospel and Christian music come together for the Gospel Music Association (GMA) Dove Awards. Awards are handed out to artists for several different categories and there are live performances throughout the show. One way to earn a free ticket to the GMA Dove Awards is by working as a seat-filler. Read on to learn how to be a seat-filler at the GMA Dove Awards.

Things You’ll Need:

• Internet connection
• Dark clothing
• Transportation to the Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee

1. Several weeks before the GMA Dove Awards log onto the Gospel Music Association’s website. Here you will find instructions and an application to be a volunteer seat-filler.
2. Fill out the application. A volunteer coordinator will email you if you have been selected.
3. Arrive at the Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee several hours before show time. This will give coordinators adequate time to organize volunteers.
4. Wear dark, solid clothing. As a seat-filler, your duty is to help by making the audience appear full on television. You should not stand out from the crowd, but instead should blend in.

Tips & Warnings

• When nominees, presenters and performers leave their seats it is the volunteer’s job to fill their seats. You may be asked to move several times during the show.
• Bring photo identification so security can match you with the list of volunteers.
