Potato soup is great when the weather gets cold. Having a recipe for good old fashioned potato soup will make you believe you are back at grandma's house. Read on to learn how to make old fashioned potato soup.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Gather your ingredients for old fashioned potato soup. You will need 2 cups sliced potatoes, ¼ cup chopped onions, 1/3 cup chopped celery,
    3 cups water, 1 ¼ tsp. salt, pepper, 1/2 cup dry milk and 1/2 cup water.

  2. Step 2

    Put all but last two ingredients in pot, cover and boil for 20 minutes. Mix the dry milk and water in a separate bowl.

  3. Step 3

    Drain and measure liquid off potatoes. There should be 1 ½ cups, if not add water. Break potatoes into small pieces and stir in milk mix and potato liquid.

  4. Step 4

    Add 1 tbsp. butter and heat. Serve hot. This recipe makes four servings.
