Having a fresh French pedicure seems to make everyone feel prettier and more pulled together. The difficulty is keeping the pedicure fresh looking between salon visits. Wearing closed toe shoes, or hitting your toe on a curb can quickly make a French pedicure look old fast. There are simple ways to keep a French pedicure fresh looking clear up to the next salon visit.

From Quick Guide: All About Nails
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • White nail polish
  • Clear nail polish
  • Nail polish remover
  • Cotton swabs
  1. Step 1

You will need to have certain products in your fresh French pedicure kit including one bottle of white nail polish and one bottle of clear coat nail polish. You will also want a bottle of nail polish remover and a few cotton swabs. Keep this kit fresh for anytime touch-ups.

  2. Step 2

Dip one end of a cotton swab into the nail polish remover and swipe over the white tip very lightly just to remove the rough edges caused by wearing shoes. Be careful not to remove the entire white tip as you will need the original tip as a guide. Take a clean cotton swab dipped in remover and clean off all of the old clear polish on the rest of the nail.

  3. Step 3

Gently with just a bit of white polish go over the existing white tip for a smooth white line, allow the white color to dry for two minutes and repeat if necessary. Again, allow the white tip to dry completely.

  4. Step 4

Once the white tip is dry, use the clear polish to cover the entire nail bed. Repeat the clear cover for a second coat allowing each to dry before applying the next coat of clear polish. Put on a pretty pair of sandles and you are ready to go.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep a small cuticle stick nearby to clean up any polish off of skin.
  • Do not remove the entire white tip placed by the salon pedicure as this is your guide to maintaining a correctly positioned white tip when applying fresh white polish.
