The Cuban Special is a delicious, little-known classic that deserves a larger audience than it currently enjoys. A rum-based cocktail that has a decidedly tropical flair, introduce the Cuban Special to your friends and soak in the appreciative back-slaps and hugs all party long.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Light rum
  • Triple sec
  • Pineapple juice
  • Half a lime
  • Cocktail shaker and strainer
  • Ice
  • Cocktail glass (chilled)
  1. Step 1

Add ice to your cocktail shaker, along with 1 1/2 ounces light rum, 1/4 ounce triple sec and 1/4 ounce pineapple juice.

  2. Step 2

Squeeze in the juice from a half a lime

  3. Step 3

Shake mixture with a 6 to 10 count shake, and then strain the drink into a chilled cocktail glass (there should be no ice in the cocktail glass).

Tips & Warnings
  • The Cuban Special goes down very smooth, and tastes quite sweet, making it a prime candidate for being abused. In other words, be careful drinking the Cuban Special, as you may find yourself acting ridiculous at night and feeling terrible the next day.
