Lake Tahoe, the US's third largest lake, lends its beauty and glory all year long. Whether you're an avid snowboarder, nature enthusiast or boater, South Lake Tahoe has something for everyone.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Map
  • Guide book
  • Casino Money
  • Sports gear
  • A fondness for the outdoor
  • A sense of adventure
  1. Step 1

Prioritize which activities you'd like to get in during your stay and how long they will take approximately.

  2. Step 2

Go to a travel agency and obtain guides that outline the area and where local vendors are.

  3. Step 3

Research online the various rental agencies and areas you'd like to visit.

  4. Step 4

Reserve a hotel room as close to the various activities as possible, that way you'll be able to walk nearly everywhere. Reserving a room at a hotel that has private beach access (which most do) is helpful.

  5. Step 5

Spend your first day exploring the city, lake and stateline, making note of any activities and taking any flyers that may catch your interest.

  6. Step 6

Ask any locals what activities and vendors they would recommend. Most locals are very friendly and more than happy to offer up advice.

  7. Step 7

Plan your days in terms of morning, afternoon and evening. You will likely be able to get one quick morning activity, a leisurely lunch, a longer activity and a late-night dinner and activity, whether that be gambling, taking in a show or exploring any of the many local watering holes.

Tips & Warnings
  • Stop at souvenier shops whenever you'd like to. That way you don't have to set aside activity time later on in the trip to accommodate for souvenier shopping
  • Remember that the weather can change quickly, so pack accordingly and always bring a jacket. It can get very, very cold at night, even in the summers, especially when you have to walk back to your hotel
