How to Get Directions With MapQuest

Find directions with MapQuest.

Do you have an address in your hand, but no way to know how to get there? You can use MapQuest to navigate to your destination.

Things You'll Need

• a computer with internet access
• a starting address
• a destination address

Instructions

1. Launch your Web browser and navigate to MapQuest (mapquest.com).

2. Click the "Get Directions" button. You can get directions for travel by vehicle, public transportation or by walking. Click on the appropriate icon.

3. In Field "A," type the street address, city and state of your point of origin. In Field "B," type the street address, city and state of your intended destination. When done, click the "Get Directions" button.
   Directions to the destination will appear along with an interactive map. If MapQuest cannot find your location, MapQuest will give several suggestions for the address. Sometimes if you re-enter the address, MapQuest will be able to identify the requested address. If not, select the closest address to your destination or departure. You will receive directions to that destination or departure, which should put you very close to where you need to go.

Tips & Warnings

• MapQuest doesn't always have updated maps for some areas. If there is a lot of road construction where you are departing or going to, the directions might not be right. If possible, get a phone number for your destination just in case the directions given by MapQuest aren't up-to-date.
