How to Make a School Bus Driver Survival Kit

How to Make a School Bus Driver Survival Kitthumbnail
A school bus driver is likely to appreciate a care package.

A school bus driver works odd hours five days a week, with the lives of dozens of schoolchildren in their hands. Some school districts hold bus driver appreciation weeks or events, but it's never out of line for a student (and parent) to give their own thanks in the form of a "survival" package. The items should be small things the driver can use on breaks.

Find out what the bus driver may need to make her day go better. Have the child watch one day to see what kind of candy or drink the driver favors, or have the child ask what the driver can use on the job.

Assemble small items such as energy bars, aspirin, chocolate, peanuts, sunglasses, gift cards and something the child noticed the driver enjoys.

Place the items in a plastic zipped bag along with a small card thanking the driver for his work. Attach a label to the bag and have the child present it to the driver.
