These days people just don’t seem to have a current set of encyclopedias or other reference books handy. It does look to be that all are moving toward the Internet to search for reference on any number of topics; American presidents are just one of them. That happens to be a fun one as well. Read on to learn how to find the most helpful information about American presidents.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer
  • Pencil and paper
Step1
Go the White House website. It is a fun place to go to begin research on any one of the former or present president of the United States. There are several other sites that are reputable as well and certainly cannot be overlooked including USA History, History Central and the Miller Center. These sites help to reference time and place of birth for each of the men who has become president, as well as the men who stood by them as vice president.
Step2
Short reports may be written using these sites of reference, or extensive research projects may use these also, and these websites are trustworthy and useful.
Step3
These sites are fantastic places to search for pictures of presidents and their family members, as well as their places of residence and more.

Tips & Warnings

  • When writing a report about an American president, be sure and focus on one of them.
  • Write of his major accomplishments in office or those outside of office, in his personal life. Use both if completing a longer research project.
  • It is safe to say as a rule that .gov and .edu are generally a great bet when doing research.
