You've created a Myspace account and completed your profile. You've begun to pimp your Myspace page with changing the color of the boxes and putting photos on your page. Now, you want to change the transparency level of the boxes on your Myspace page so you can see the background photo behind it or even hide the box altogether.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet connection and computer
  • Myspace account
  • Completed Myspace profile
  1. Step 1

Log in to your Myspace account, which pulls up your home page, and click on 'profile' on the control panel on the left.

  2. Step 2

This takes you to the profile edit page. On the far right, click on 'profile editor.' You will pull up a welcome screen. Click 'start' on this screen.

  3. Step 3

Choose 'modules.' Now you are ready to change transparency levels! Decide which box to change, such as 'all modules' or just the 'about me' box. Click on your selection.

  4. Step 4

Choose 'basic' to set yourself up to change the transparency level of the whole box.

  5. Step 5

Decide whether to make your box/es translucent, or totally transparent. Look to the right of where you see 'basic' and you will see transparency. It is set as a default to 100%, which means the opposite of what you would think. Here, there is no transparency.

Choose 0% transparency if you want to make a box transparent. This will in effect make the box invisible to anyone visiting your myspace page. Do this by moving the large circle in between the small circles to the far right.

  7. Step 7

Choose some level of transparency between 0 and 100 if you want to make the box translucent, where you can see partially through the box to whatever background you have on your Myspace page behind it. Try 45% for starters, for example.

  8. Step 8

Play around with the transparency level until you get it where you want it. Remember that each time you change the level, you can preview the level on your sample home page below the profile editor section.

  9. Step 9

Go to the top line of the profile editor and click on 'save' once you have the transparency level for the box where you want it. Then, in the window that opens up click 'ok.' This will take you to your Myspace URL or the myspace page that everyone will see on the internet.

  10. Step 10

You're finished if the page looks the way you want it. If not, start the process again.

Tips & Warnings
  • You may want to choose a new color for your box before you change your transparency level.
  • You don't have to choose a new color or any color at all, because a default color is already on your Myspace page when you set up the account.
  • Choose 0% transparency if you want to hide a box from everyone. For instance, some people may want to hide their friends from other users.
  • Changing the transparency level to some level of translucency is useful if you have a background photo that you want to show partially through your box.
  • If you accidentally choose 'borders' or 'image' before you select your transparency level for your box, you will be making the border or images in the box translucent or transparent instead of the whole box.
  • If you make a box totally transparent, you won't be able to see the box or any of the contents, such as pictures or text, in the box.
