Once you have set up your basic profile on your Myspace page, you are ready to make it interesting! You don't have to go to other sites and cut and paste or use complicated codes. You can use the Myspace profile editor right from your Myspace homepage. This article will show you how to change the color of your boxes (also called modules) on your Myspace page.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Internet connection and computer
  • Myspace.com account
  • Basic profile completed on your Myspace page

How to Get to the Profile Editor of Your Myspace Page

Step1
Log in to your Mypsace.com account. You will be taken to your home page.
Step2
Scroll down on the left to the control panel. There is a link on the control panel to "profile." Click on this link. This should take you to a page called "profile edit."
Step3
On the upper right of the profile edit page, you will see a blue link that says "profile editor." (Note: This is different from profile edit.) Click on "Profile editor."
Step4
A welcome screen should come up on the profile editor, with a start button. Click on the start button.
Step5
You should now be at the profile editor (beta) page, and you are ready to start the process of customizing the color of the modules/boxes of your profile!

How to Change the Color of the Boxes

Step1
At the top of the profile editor, you will see where you can choose background, modules, images, text, or link. You are going to be working with the boxes on your Myspace page, so click on "modules."
Step2
Decide which boxes you want to make a certain color (or change from a previous color). You can select "all modules," or just individual boxes. Click either on "all modules," to change the color of all boxes, or click on one single module, such as "contact tables," "navigation bar," or "about me."
Step3
Pretty new blue background color for your boxes... Pick a color for your box or boxes. (You will not be dealing with transparency level in this discussion, so keep this the way it is).
First, make sure BASIC is selected, which colors the whole box (not just the border). If it's not selected, click on BASIC.
Step4
Go slightly to the right, and you will see a color spectrum that looks like a rainbow. Click anywhere on this spectrum to set or change the color of the box/boxes. Then, scroll down below the profile editor to see your sample page to make sure the changes have been made. If not, try this step again.
Step5
If you don't like the color you selected, simply click again somewhere in the color spectrum. Again, you will see the changes take effect on your sample Myspace page right below the profile editor.

How to Save Changes to Your Box Color

Step1
Once you are sure your box/es are the color you want, you are ready to save. On the top of the page, in profile editor, you will see a box titled "save." Click on "save" of the page you are on, to the profile editor part of the page.
Step2
A window will open asking if you are sure you want to save this profile design. If you are sure, click "ok."
Step3
You will be taken to the Myspace URL of your page that is on the Internet. You will be seeing the page as others who visit your Myspace site. Is the color selection of the box/es the way you want it? If so, you're finished!
Step4
If the color is not as you want it for your box/es, then you must go to the left top of the page, and click "home." This will take you to your profile so you can start over with the steps in Section 1 and 2 to change the color to make it the way you want.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want to place a colored border around your box/es, then you can follow the steps in Section 2, but select BORDERS instead of BASIC in Step 3 of Section 2.
  • You can get different levels of each color by clicking higher or lower on each color in the color spectrum. If you click at the top of the blue stripe, for instance, you will get an intense, bright blue. If you click at the bottom of the blue, you will get a faded out blue color.
  • You can make each one of your boxes a different color if you want! You have to go through the steps in Section 2 and Section 3 (below) for each one.
  • Always remember to save your color creations for your Myspace page! If not, you will have to go back and do the process again!
  • Make sure you have the color you want for the box or boxes on your Myspace page before you save. Otherwise, you will have to start again and change them.
