Things You'll Need:
- Rectangle Plastic Container (or any large size)
- Large Water Pot
- Colander
- Blender
- Garlic Press
- Knife
- 3 Large Tomatoes
- 4 Yellow Chili Peppers
- 2/3 White Onion
- 2/3 Red Onion
- 1 Clove of Garlic
-
Step 1
Tomatoes, Chili Peppers, White Onion, Red Onion and Garlic CloveWash tomatoes and chili peppers before placing in boiling water.
-
Step 2
Boiling Water with Tomatoes and Chili Peppers in potPut a large pot of water on the stove, boil the water, then place washed tomatoes and chili peppers in water for about 5-7 minutes.
-
Step 3
Cut, White and Red Onions, and Pressed Garlic CloveWhile tomatoes and chilies are boiling, cut white and red onions in small pieces and put garlic clove into press. Once all is cut and pressed, keep on cutting board.
-
Step 4
Boiled Tomatoes and Chilis in CollanderAfter tomatoes and chilies are boiled for 5-7 minutes, spill tomatoes and chilies into colander to cool down. You will see the tomatoes skin is already coming off. The chili skin does not come off, I just boil them anyway.
-
Step 5
Let tomatoes cool down for about 3 minutes before peeling away skin still attached to tomatoes. Once all the skin is removed, place whole tomatoes and chilies into blender. Blend until it looks like liquid. Once salsa looks blended, turn off blender, take a spoon and feel for any lumpy tomato or chili pieces. If there are lumps, continue to blend until it is all liquidity.
-
Step 6
Cut, White and Red Onion, and Pressed Garlic Clove on top Blended SalsaWhen the salsa is completely blended, pour into rectangle plastic container and then add cut onions and pressed garlic, then stir with spoon. This is the best way I have learned to taste the onions and garlic, by stirring it in after tomatoes and chilies are blended.
-
Step 7
Once salsa ingredients are stirred together, put container top on, open refrigerator and chill. If you like, you may always add more chili' s to make it hotter.
