Homemade potting soil is a great way to get exactly what you want out of your garden. These easy recipes will show you how to make the exact potting soil you want.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

    Each Step Is A New Recipe

  1. Step 1

    1 part perlite, 1 part peat moss, 1 part vermiculite

  2. Step 2

    2 parts soil, 1 part compost, 1 part perlite

  3. Step 3

    7 parts composted loam, 3 parts peat moss, 2 parts coarse sand, 1 ½ parts ground limestone, 8 ½ parts fertilizer (2 parts hoof and horn meal, 2 parts super phosphate, 1 part sulfate of potash) OR 12 parts 5-10-10 fertilizer.

  4. Step 4

    1 part peat moss, 1 part sieved compost

  5. Step 5

    1 part garden soil, 1 part peat moss, 1 part builder’s sand

  6. Step 6

    1 part soil, 1 part milled sphagnum moss, 1 part peat moss
