Your home is probably your single largest investment. While the value of your home is largely determined by things like location, size, condition, and amenities, there are still steps you can take to maximize the chances of a sale in an inexpensive way. Evaluate if your home could use the following, make the changes, and you’ll be on your way to the goal of finding a Buyer.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • A small amount of money
  • some tools

Step1
First understand and accept that you need to treat the sale of your home as if it's no longer the place you love. Now that your selling, consider it a HOUSE, not your home. Look at it from a potential Buyer's eye.
Step2
How's the yard look- Make sure it is neat and clean. Free of debris, trash, tires, leaves, and even a bunch of kids toys. Consider fresh mulch and remove any dead plantings. A clean landscaped yard means most likely a clean house.
Step3
Dress up the entrance- A freshly painted door with a new door handle will always make a great first impression
Step4
Make the inside shine- Now just make sure every room is ready by removing big furniture, fresh coat of paint(two coats) all light bulbs work, windows are clean, carpets free of stains, no loose door knobs or cluttered closets. Maybe even a few new light fixtures. Make it shine!!

Tips & Warnings

  • consider renting a small off site storage to put the items you want, but take up space in your current house.
