As the Maid (or Matron) of Honor, you have a responsibility to make a speech prior to one of the wedding toasts. Your speech takes place after the Best Man’s speech, and should reflect the feelings of love you have for the bride.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Stories about the bride
  • Something to write with
  • Sincerity
  1. Step 1

Think about what you love most about the bride.

  2. Step 2

Share a heartwarming (but appropriate) story.

  3. Step 3

A little humor is acceptable, but make sure it is PG rated.

  4. Step 4

Write your speech down and share it with two or three others in the wedding party prior to giving the speech. You want to make sure that it is appropriate, and that it is not embarrassing to the couple.

  5. Step 5

Practice in front of a mirror to become familiar and comfortable with your speech.

Tips & Warnings
  • Speak from the heart.
  • Focus on the bride, especially.
  • Avoid embarrassing stories and sex-related humor.
