Peach bread is a light and tasty bread. Great for summer get-togethers, this bread will be a hit at your next cookout.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1½ cups sugar
  • ½ cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 2¼ cups pureed fresh peaches (6-8)
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans
  • Baking utensils
  • Oven
  1. Step 1

    Gather your ingredients. Ingredients needed for Peach Bread are:

    Cream sugar and shortening together. Add eggs and mix thoroughly. Add peach puree and dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly.

  3. Step 3

    Add vanilla and chopped pecans and stir until blended. Pour into 2 loaf pans that have been well greased and floured.

  4. Step 4

    Bake at 325 degrees for an hour. Cool for a few minutes, then remove from pan. Makes two 9-inch loaves.
