Let’s say that you’re finished with your duties at work early in the day and you find yourself with nothing to do. Obviously, your boss is not paying you to sit and look at the walls. But on the other hand, you have absolutely no work for the rest of the day. So what do you do?

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

“Look” busy. People in general only respond to what something “looks” like instead of the way they actually are.

  2. Step 2

If you’re just doing nothing or doing other things not related to business, be quiet and keep your ears open. Be extremely attentive to hearing footsteps coming in your direction. Before and when someone does approach, look like you’re doing something official.

  3. Step 3

Clean out your office. A great way to keep busy.

  4. Step 4

Offer to help another department. If no one needs any help, walk around the office and look like you’re doing something official.

  5. Step 5

Check often to see when the workday is finished and thank the good Lord above when it is.
