In the season of award shows and with all the Christmas parties coming up. Here's a tip on how to dress like the stars.

In this article, you will learn how to dress in a manner that you will be red carpet ready.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get a dress that will enhance your skin, eye and hair color. You are not limited in your color choices but you must know what looks best on you. If you are not sure take a friend with you. Some colors will enhance your coloring more than others.

Be your own best stylist and hold up hues to your face to see which ones bring out your skin tones, eyes and hair the best.

In general, warm hues like fire engine red and coral look best on brunettes with darker coloring; cool pastels work for blondes. But there are a myriad of colors -- metallic gold and silver included -- that work for all colorings.

  2. Step 2

Let your dress get the attention or let your jewelry take your dress to the next level but you should not do both. For example, a black strapless gown with no adornment could carry a chunky diamond bracelet and necklace or a pair of chandelier earrings. Solid color dresses and neutrals are a great backdrop for colorful jewels.

  3. Step 3

Age is just a number and should not dictate how you dress for special occasions. Some younger women can get away with some old glamour styles.

On the other hand women over 40 could swing a prom like dress with great ease.

However wearing clothes to show off tattoos or wearing minimircos can have an adverse reaction no matter how young or old. It does mean that the dress should show some skin, even it's only a peek of a shoulder or an arm. Long sleeves, long dresses and high necklines age every woman.

  4. Step 4

Stay away from getting into style ruts. Make a change get a dress that is not expected. The best way for you to have fun with fashion is to try something new: venture into a store that you've never shopped in, wear straight-leg jeans if you're a bootleg girl, try a mini and tights instead of a full, knee-length skirt. The idea is to push the limits of your wardrobe and experience innovative looks.

  5. Step 5

An important step for the big girls of the world is "If you can't hide it, Flaunt it." Most dresses for special occasion and high fashion is made for those that are skinny.

Never sacrifice fashion to cover up and look like you are wearing a sack-like dress. The most important thing to remember is you are beautiful just the way you are. You are fearfully and wonderful made. Skinny or not.

  6. Step 6

You don't have to do much to flaunt your assets. Whether you have great legs, a toned back, or a great abs. There are ways to flaunt it without going over board.

Dressing for your best feature is less about dressing for size or age and more about making the best of what you have to work with.

  7. Step 7

Nothing can kill your look quicker than bad hair. take a minute to make your hair look just a great as the dress.

Remember even if you only add a sparkly barrette or a pull back part of your hair, it's enough to set off the look as being special.

In fact, just going with a fancier version of your everyday look is much easier to carry off than going with a complicated beehive or some other look that's hard to pull off.
