How to Teach Liquid Measurements (U.S.)

This is a creative, fun and effective way to teach liquid measurements to children.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 5 pieces of different colored construction paper.
  1. Step 1

    Label the first piece of paper "Gallon."

  2. Step 2

    Fold and cut second piece of paper in half and label halves "Half Gallon."

  3. Step 3

    Fold and cut 3rd piece of paper into quarters and label each quarter "Quart."

  4. Step 4

    Fold and cut 4th piece of paper into eighths and label each piece "Pint."

  5. Step 5

    Fold and cut 5th piece of paper into sixteenths and label each piece "Cups."

  6. Step 6

    Have children use kit to compare and convert measurements. Let them see how many of each color it takes to make a gallon, or quiz them on how many quarts are in a half gallon.
