How to Get A Doctor Into Court to Testify for You
Step1
Go to the courthouse and get an information package on how to get witnesses to come to trial.
Step2
Make an appointment to see your doctor and then ask if he/she will testify on your behalf at your trial.
Step3
Ask the doctor for a copy of their CV (a complete record of their education, training and accomplishments in their specific field of interest) in advance so that it can be filed with the court and served on the other party in the timeline before trial.
Step4
If you can’t get in to speak with the doctor personally, send or deliver to his office a letter that lays out your request, and make sure you include the date and time and the purpose for their testimony.
Step5
You could get a legal representative to draw up a letter on your behalf requesting that the doctor attend your trial as a witness.
Step6
You can go to the court office and get a summons, which is a court order that instructs the doctor to attend your trial.
Step7
You will then need to hire a process server or get some other person to deliver the summons to the doctor. That person will then need to swear an affidavit and file it with the court stating that they delivered the summons to the doctor.
