Whether it is the holiday season or just an elaborate meal that you created at any time throughout the year, there is always a need for terrific ways that you can put your leftover turkey to good use. While turkey sandwiches are always delicious, there comes a time when you want something a little bit different. This time, you can go ahead and turn your turkey leftovers into a quick and easy mouth-watering stir fry that your whole family can enjoy.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Leftover turkey
  • Cooked white rice
  • Frozen stir fry vegetables
  • Bottle of stir fry seasoning sauce
  • Salt, pepper and soy sauce to taste

Step1
Sliced turkey meat, perfect for dicing and tossing into a stir fry. Once you have picked all of the remaining meat off of the turkey carcass, go ahead and cut all of the meat into bite size pieces or smaller. Set aside in a bowl while you begin the rest of the stir fry.
Step2
In a heated wok or large pan, add one tablespoon of oil, either peanut or vegetable oil is fine. Once oil is smoking slightly, add vegetables to pan, constantly stirring and tossing to ensure no burning or sticking takes place.
Step3
Once vegetables are nearly cooked through, you can then add the turkey meat. Give a couple of tosses.
Step4
At the very end, go ahead and add your stir fry seasoning sauce until you have to consistency that you desire.
Step5
To finish, take the stir fry mixture and pour over cooked white rice and then salt and pepper or add soy sauce to taste. Enjoy!

Tips & Warnings

  • You can always add and subtract ingredients to suit your tastes.
  • While this is always the perfect way to use leftover turkey meat, this recipe can be used for other meats such as chicken, beef or pork
  • For a lighter stir fry, try using a light soy sauce instead of a bottled stir fry sauce.
  • Stir fry is an extremely fast cooking method. Always make sure that you dedicate time to this cooking process so you do not burn any of the food.
  • If sticking or burning does begin to occur, you can always add a couple of spoonfuls of water or oil to your mixture and begin tossing again.
