Spoil your spouse with love and attention.

Everyone likes to be spoiled; it makes you feel appreciated and loved. And it doesn't take a lot to spoil your spouse, just a little attention and thoughtfulness is all you need to make your spouse feel like they are the most important person in the world. The following steps will give you some ideas you can use to make them feel like the most important person in the world.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Do things you know your spouse would rather not do. If your husband hates picking up the dry cleaning, make the trip yourself. He'll appreciate the gesture and feel cared for.

  2. Step 2

Anticipate your spouse's needs. If your wife calls from the office and sounds frazzled by the day's events, have something nice waiting for her when she comes home. This could be a homemade meal, brewing her favourite pot of tea, drawing a bath for her, or simply tidying up the house and putting the kids to bed so she comes home to a peaceful house.

  3. Step 3

Be dependable. A big part of feeling cared for is knowing you can depend on that person. Let's say that your husband has a night out with the guys on the first Saturday of every month, and you always try to avoid any scheduling conflicts for that night so he can go out. Your husband may not tell you how much he appreciates it, but you can bet that when his buddies are complaining that they can't make it because their wives have other plans them, your husband is sitting back with a big grin on his face telling his buddies that he NEVER has to worry about that because his wife ALWAYS plans things around his Saturday night out.

  4. Step 4

Never forget a special occasion. Men get a bad rap for this, but gentlemen, it's easily fixed. Keep important dates like your wife's birthday, your wedding anniversary, the date you got engaged - note any important event on your calendar and set reminders well in advance of the date so you're not scrambling to pull something together at the last minute. Your wife will feel spoiled rotten if she never has to remind you about these occasions.

  5. Step 5

Invest in your future. Make a secret time capsule for your spouse to open in the future. It could be a year from now, ten years from now, or any date that has special meaning for the two of you. Include items like recent pictures, any cards you've exchanged, receipts or ticket stubs to an event you both attended - anything that would be forgotten in time and a treat to go through in the future. Don't forget to add a personal note to the time capsule. It doesn't have to be elaborate, just speak from the heart and tell your spouse how much they mean to you.

Tips & Warnings
  • It might sound cliché, but always remember that it's the thought that counts. No one needs to spend a lot of money on gifts or special dinners. Spoiling each other is about being there and making the other person feel special.
