How to Make a Scarf without Knitting
Working with felt is easy because it doesn't need any sewing. All you need to do is cut it to the size that you need.
Instructions

1
Choose a themed felt material or any felt material that you think people in your circle of family or friends would like.
-
2
Determine how long you want your scarves to be and how many you want to make; then, multiply the size of the scarves by the number of scarves you need to calculate how much material you need to purchase. For example, if you want to make scarves that are 5 feet long and 1 foot wide, you need 5 square feet of material; if you want to make three of these scarves, you'll need 15 square feet of material. The clerk at the material store should be able to help you determine how much to buy.

3
Cut the scarves in the dimensions you've predetermined. To dress them up you can create fringe by cutting the ends about four inches in and six to eight times across.

You can also do this with fleece. Blankets and throws too. -

Judy, I'm glad it was so useful to you....Someone in my choir brought the scarf to practice as a suggestions for making scarves as a costume.....so I thought I'd write about it. I'm also pleased to add you to my friends list....Lynn -

This pattern also works with fleece fabric. The edges don't ravel, plus it's fuzzy and warm.
