Pies are a part of the holiday season, and sweet potato pie is certainly no exception. Yams work just as easily as sweet potatoes with this recipe. The following instructions will make you a pie that can serve up to eight people.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 lb. can of sweet potatoes or yams. (Either one will do.)
  • 16 oz. can of whole berry cranberry sauce.
  • 1/2 cup of orange or apple juice.
  • 16 oz. can of sliced pears or large fresh pear.
  • Casserole dish.
  1. Step 1

Drain half of the syrup in your 2 lb. can of sweet potatoes. (Yams also work--whatever your preference).

  2. Step 2

Place sweet potatoes and what is left of the syrup in a casserole dish.

  3. Step 3

Spoon out dollops of whole berry cranberry sauce among the sweet potatoes.

  4. Step 4

Add canned (16 oz.) sliced pears or fresh sliced pears and or sliced apples to pie for extra flavor.

  5. Step 5

Pour 1/2 cup of apple or orange juice among the pie for even more flavor.

  6. Step 6

Cover dish, bake in 350-degree heat for 15 minutes or until bubbling/heated through.

Tips & Warnings
  • Simply cut the amounts of everything in half if you would like a smaller pie.
