Once you've arrived, make sure you look at the posted rules. Some parks require you to wear all the gear--helmet, knee, wrist and elbow pads--others don't.
Step2
Spit out your gum. If you lose it, someone's wheels might get stuck in it.
Step3
Check out the flow of the park. Which way is everyone skating? That’s the way you want to skate.
Step4
Take your turn.
Step5
Go to the sidelines when it's time to eat or drink.
Step6
Be friendly. Skateboarders can look mean but they just want to have fun.
Step7
Don’t be afraid to say: "I'm new at this." You would be surprised how many people jump to help you out.
Step8
If you fall, get up as quickly as possible (if you can) because there's someone else rolling up right behind you.
Tips & Warnings
As you become a better skater, be kind to newbies.
Wear all your safety gear even if it's not required.
Don’t leave valuables, such as your cell phone, lying around.
Don't talk in the middle of the park. If you're not skating, beat it to the sidelines.
