Things You'll Need:
- Clean disposable razor
- Shaving cream or gel
- Clean pair of scissors
- Water
- Towel
- Tub/shower
- Mositurizering cream
-
Step 1
Decide how much of the hair you want to shave. You have the choice of doing a simple trimming. You could do a small shaving leaving some in the middle area. You could take the plunge and completely shave all of it.
-
Step 2
Get comfortable in the bathroom. Make sure your razor and your shaving cream are handy. You may want to sit on the edge of the tub or in the tub as you do this.
-
Step 3
If you have never shaved down there or even trimmed, the hair may be quite long. To make the shave neater and smoother, start by using a small pair of clean scissors or a razor to begin trimming away the length. You may find for this part that the scissors are the easiest to use. Take your time as you trim. If you rush, you are more apt to cut yourself. Keep trimming as far down as you can. Collect the excess strands of hair as you are doing this. If you can, place the hair in a plastic bag that you can toss away later. You want to try to keep as much hair from going down the shower as you can to keep from plugging it.
-
Step 4
When you have trimmed all you can with the scissors, take a clean, dry wash cloth or small towel and brush away the excess hair. Take a look at your handy work. If you like what you see, you can stop now. If you want to go completely bare, that is your decision, too.
-
Step 5
If you decide to go ahead and shave, wet the area with water and then apply the shaving cream. This will help keep your skin from becoming sore and dry. An easy way to gain access to your body is by lying in the tub and placing one leg up on the tub wall. Make you that you have applied the shower gel or cream onto your skin. Gels are usually thicker than creams. Should you use shower creams and gels that were made for a man or a woman? The choice is yours. The woman’s version usually smells nice and is easier to find for sensitive skin.
-
Step 6
Begin shaving slowly. Start at the top and work your way down. You may have to use your other hand to pull back the skin. You want the skin to remain tight. Turn to the sides near your legs. Carefully shave this area in an up and down motion. You should also shave just inside the lips of this area (labia). To do this, it will take two hands. One hand will do the shaving; the other will gently roll the lips open. Be careful when doing this. You don’t want to go into the area too far, just enough that it doesn’t irritate you or any sexual partners you may have. Make sure you use lots of lather and water. This will keep you from getting razor burn.
-
Step 7
Rub your hand over the area and feel for hair. If you feel that you forgot a spot, slowly shave that area again. Remember to add more water and shaving gel if necessary. Repeat the process until you are satisfied.
-
Step 8
Get out of the tub/shower and apply some moisturizer onto the area. This will help prevent irritation.
