When your twins get older, like my twins were at 22 months old, they will more likely than not attempt to shimmy down their cribs like it is a game.

Things You'll Need:

  • Ability to say no
  • Crib tents

When Your Twins Begin to Climb out of their Cribs

  1. Step 1

When your twins get close to two years old, they will more likely than not begin to climb out of their cribs. When this happens, do not be surprised or shocked. Remember, your twins were born with a mind of their own and will begin using it. If you hear or see them getting out, keep putting them back in until you can not do it anymore.

  2. Step 2

Once you have had enough of seeing your twins scaling their cribs like it is a game, you can either purchase two crib tents to hopefully keep them in, or you can do what my husband and I did and dismantle their cribs and put out old Queen Sized Bed, without box spring, on their bedroom floor.

  3. Step 3

So now, you have let your twins scale their crib for at least two months without any injuries. Now, you want to make sure they are safe and you decide to finally dismantle their cribs and place their cribs on the floor. With their cribs on the floor, you now know they will be safe.

Tips & Warnings
  • When you place your twins' mattresses on the floor, make sure they are both heavy and will not flip over
  • If one of your mattresses is not heavy, just look for a Queen Sized mattress and let them both your twins sleep on it
  • Like my twins, they will more likely than not roll on each other while sleeping since they are now sleeping next to each other.
