Having toddler twins often becomes an act of pure efficiency. You have twice the work, so you condense and compartmentalize anything that you can to save time. This is often at your twins' expense. There is, however, a way to do this and benefit from it when it comes to school and teaching. If you want to get twice the benefit when it comes to teaching your toddler twins, read on!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The first step in teaching your twins is to set up school right in the middle of your living room. Every day your toddler twins will come home with homework. Sit them down in the living room and prepare to go over the homework for each child together. Each child will benefit from the other where homework is concerned. Use this time to reinforce what they did at school that day.

  2. Step 2

After reviewing the day at school, bring out your letter for the day. Pick a letter from the alphabet and highlight it throughout the rest of the study session. Have the kids name words that start with the letter, and have them practice writing it in upper and lower case.

  3. Step 3

Then pick a number of the day and highlight it as well. Begin to teach them to add and subtract and have them count.

  4. Step 4

After the letters and counting, have your twins review for you, one at a time, the things they did at school. You will be pleasantly surprised at how detailed they will become with you as their student. This builds their confidence, and again, you are doubling the teaching effects with your twins.

  5. Step 5

Finally, do a fun task with your children to close out homework for the day. Play a word or color game, whatever your twins likes the best. The key here is to get a pattern and stick to it every day. The children will see it as an extension of school and it will double their learning with each other.
